Interbull is out

INTERBULL evaluations will not be adopted by the Animal Data Centre for use in its August proof run for imported Holstein bulls.

It will continue to use direct conversions to UK predicted transmitting ability equivalents. These still provide the most accurate ranking in the UK, explains ADC director, Gordon Swanson.

"In the future, Interbull evaluations will replace direct conversions," says Mr Swanson. "But this will not take place until we are convinced Interbull evaluations are proving the most accurate ranking for selection purposes."

&#8226 Ayrshire, Jersey and Guernsey breeds will use the Interbull evaluations.

Most other Holstein producing countries market sires using Interbull breeding values.
