Iraqi farms in cancer scare

IRAQI doctors fear that farms which produce most of the food for the southern city of Basra have been contaminated by depleted uranium shells used by the Allies in the Gulf War.

Thousand of people there are said to be dying of leukaemia and stomach
cancer.

Some suspect that the epidemic is attributable to the bombing of Saddam Husseins chemical warfare factories, or that US aircraft may have used some form of chemicals in their attacks.
