Jersey buyers en masse

VOLUME buyers were to the fore at the dispersal of Staffordshire breeder Harry Williams Amerton Jersey herd – and it was one of 11 animals taken to a Cumbria herd that topped the sale.

A three-year-old freshly calved daughter of Rebob Duncan Hermitage made 810gns and was one of the consignment heading for the Carlisle herd of Norman Hughes.

Keith Jefferson-Smith bought 21 cattle for his Conhess herd in Scotland. And M R Kennaugh accounted for 10 head as the foundation of a new Jersey herd being set up alongside Holstein Friesian milkers on his farm on the Isle of Man.
