Kids think spuds grow on trees

POTATOES grow on trees and new potatoes are orange, or at least thats what many children think, according to new research.

A study by the British Potato Council found that 54% of children had no idea what a new potato was, and 52% did not know they grew in the ground, reports the Financial Times.

The BPC has commissioned a bus to tour the country educating youngsters about the spud.
