FARMERS and farm workers are being asked to contribute part of their wages to help their refugees fleeing Kosovo.
LKL Services, the contract labour firm with staff on around 200 UK dairy units, is contacting both its contract herdsmen and farmer customers to ask if they will donate 1% of their Aprils gross income.
LKL has promised to add another 50 pence to each £ raised.
"The crisis has really hit a chord with many of our customers and herd managers because many of the people involved are farmers having to leave the land they have worked on for so many years," said George Gordon, LKL general manager. *
