Less noise with new cab
Less noise with new cab
BETTER visibility, a lower noise level and improved control layout are claimed for a new cab design used by Knight Farm Machinery on its Challenger self-propelled sprayer range.
Offering 10% more glass than previous versions, the revised cab also has an uprated air-conditioning system to keep the "greenhouse effect" under control.
Windows are now bonded, instead of bolted, and the front windscreen is a curved laminated unit which carries a darkened anti-glare strip.
Switching to GRP mouldings
Switching to GRP mouldings for the roof panel and using GRP cladding over metal components has helped to reduced the in-cab noise level, claims Knight.
Internally, the main joystick control has been repositioned on the seat armrest, while the Deltaspray electronic controller has been placed within easier reach of the operator.
Other changes to the Challenger sprayer range include an improved walkway to the spray tank, while the sprayers filling controls, remote throttle and chemical induction hopper have been grouped together.
The Challenger is available with 105hp and 195hp matched with 2000 and 4000-litre tanks.
Better visibility and improved control layout are among the changes operators will find in Knights redesigned Challenger sprayer cab. Boom options extend from 12 to 24m with two and four-wheel steering standard.
