Linseed tank mix backtrack

TANK mixing Ally (metsulfuron-methyl) with Eagle (amidosulfuron) for linseed weed control (Feb 19, p63) no longer has manufacturer backing, says a Du Pont spokesperson.

Last years unusual weather led to yellowing of spring linseed on very light land, prompting the change while further work is undertaken.

The companys spokesperson also points out that Lexus Class (carfentrazone-ethyl + flupyrsulfuron-methyl) has no label approval for use in winter barley (Feb 19, p65).

"We have seen some adverse effects in some varieties, but with no rhyme or reason. It is a bit like the situation with chlorotoluron, although we have no plans to check sensitivities, hence the lack of label approval."
