Local buyer grabs midland pasture

THE same purchaser, a local farmer, acquired about 23 acres of permanent pasture at Pensax, near Stourport, Hereford and Worcester, which was offered for sale in two lots by auctioneer Nick Champion, Russell Baldwin & Bright.

Bidding opened at £25,000 for 16.43 acres and rose to £45,500 (£2739/acre) and the second lot 6.15 acres sold for £16,750.

Over the border in Salop, two lots of accommodation land at Bridge Farm, Wem, sold for £70,000 and £40,000 respectively.

Including 46.5 acres the average price paid was £2366/acre.

The farmhouse, farm buildings and 62 acres sold prior to the auction to a buyer from north Devon. Auctioneeer Allen Gittins, Halls, handled the sale.
