Maktoum turns his hand to bulls

A MIDDLE-EASTERN sheikh who has built a reputation in Britain as a horse breeder, is making an attempt to breed champion Aberdeen-Angus cattle, according to The Herald.

Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum through his Shadwell Meat Company, which now has a 25-strong herd, is hoping to have a couple of specimens ready for next years Perth Bull Sales.

The company hopes to build up to a herd of 50 with the aim of creating a Shadwell brand. The current herd is claimed to include some of the top bloodstock available.
