Maltsters join forces
A NEW malting business has been formed from a joint venture between Moray Firth Maltings and Hugh Baird and Sons.
The new firm, to be called Bairds Malt, will be 40% owned by Scottish Courage and 60% by ConAgra Malt, the respective parent companies of the two businesses.
It will have a production capacity of 300,000t. The deal also includes Moray Firths agricultural trading businesses – Scotgrain Agriculture and Saxon Agriculture – and Hugh Bairds Mark Lawrence Grain. *
