MFsopen day success could shape show policy

MASSEY Ferguson believes the success of its recent open day for dealers and customers could make the company rethink the way it will present products in the future.

According to MFs UK and Ireland sales director David Sleath, over 8000 people attended the four-day event held at the NAC, Stoneleigh.

"With the absence of virtually all major agricultural shows this year it seemed a good idea to provide our dealers and customers with a totally focussed event on all Massey Ferguson products," he says. "It was also an opportunity for many customers to see the new 4300 tractor range which was launched earlier this year."

Mr Sleath concedes the lack of agricultural shows may have been a factor for the keen attendance and notes that it is also a year when Smithfield was not scheduled to take place.

"We shall have to take stock of the situation but, if we could emulate this event on an annual or biennial basis, it will certainly make us take a serious look at our current show programme." &#42
