MGAaward goes to Antrim

FERMENTED whole-crop is helping one Co Antrim producer achieve over 4800 litres from forage for his dairy herd, and made him winner of this years MGA National Whole-crop Competition.

David Wallace of Antrim, Northern Ireland, grows 15ha (37 acres) of wheat for whole-crop to feed his 100-cow Holstein Friesian herd. Yields average 7818 litres with 4812 litres coming from forage.

Runner up in the competition is Pat Kemp of Cairdhillock, Kingswell, Aberdeenshire.
