THE Meat and Livestock Commissions complaint against an anti-meat poster campaign by animal rights group Animal Aid has been upheld by the Advertising Standards Authority.

The poster, with the words "Meat Kills", was unacceptable, according the ASA. It has warned Animal Aid not to advertise in that way again, saying the posters were likely to cause unjustified fear and distress.

The MLC said it deplored the unwarranted and unsubstantiated attack on meat, which has a nutritious and healthy role to play in balanced diets
