Monsanto sees profits fall
PROFITS before interest at Monsantos agricultural products arm fell from $306 million to $281m (£174m), largely due to amortisation costs from its ambitious seed company acquisition programme.
Net income for the group, which is trying to transform into a life sciences company spanning biotechnology, nutrition and pharmaceuticals, was down year-on-year to $132m (£82m), from $196m.
