FARMERS and farmworkers who received help during the foot-and-mouth crisis could reapply to the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution if they were still experiencing problems, regional RABI field officer, Christine Andrews, told great Yorkshire showgoers.
"Some people believe that now F&M is off the agenda they can no longer turn to us for help," she said.
"But there are many farmers and agricultural workers who are still suffering the after-effects of the crisis. We encourage them to contact us because we may be able to assist with domestic bills."
Mrs Andrews said RABI was considering setting up a retirement home for farmers and farmworkers in the North of England.
