New measures on GM food come into force

New measures to force food manufacturers to disclose if they are using genetically-modified ingredients come into operation tomorrow (Tuesday).

Environmental campaigners Friends of the Earth branded the rules a “con” and claimed that most so-called “Frankenstein foods” would be exempt.
