NFU talks end in stalemate

TALKS between the National Farmers Union and the militant Farmers for Action group have broken up without agreement.

Now the group may go ahead with its threat to use a 500-signature petition to force an extraordinary general meeting to call for reform of the NFU constitution.

The FFA is unhappy with what it claims is a lack of support for grassroots farmers from the NFU hierarchy, reported Farming Today on BBC Radio 4.
