NI beef exports disappoint

ONLY one consignment of beef has been exported from Northern Ireland since the BSE-inspired European Union ban on exports from the province was lifted almost two months ago, the Government has disclosed.

Paul Murphy, Northern Ireland Minister of State, said in a Commons written reply that Belgium received the only consignment of Ulster beef to be exported since the end of the ban on 1 June.
