Non-pedigree HF tops £1040

A NON-PEDIGREE heifer led the trade at 1040gns at Ross-on-Wyes monthly sale of Holstein Friesians.

This was paid by R C Lowe, Bristol, for a freshly-calved entry from S A Hawkins herd at Withington, Hereford.

A calved heifer by Hanoverhill Roxy from J and P Jackson, Dymock, Glos, made 970gnsto W C Cooke and Son, Aber-gavenny.

And a lively demand for in-calf heifers drew a keen crowd of buyers from the north-west and west Wales. Several made over 900gns peaking at 930gns.
