NZ lamb muscles in on Europe


NEW ZEALANDS lamb producers have their eyes a slice of the European market, at the expense of Scottish farmers, according to The Herald.

New Zealand marketing officials say their objective is to boost prices rather than volume, but the paper reports there are already signs of increasing sales on the Continent at the expense of Scottish meat.

Meat New Zealand has just kicked off a marketing campaign in support of its home-produced lamb. Officials of the organisation believe their activities will not depress prices.
