Oliver Walston reveals all
FAT-CAT farmer and TV presenter Oliver Walston gets another personal profile, this time in the pages of The Independent.
His subsidy cheque of £180,000 is reiterated again – for the few in the country who are not already aware of it. But less well known is the £120,000 mortgage on the property. He says he owes the bank £1 million in total.
He claims to have many interests outside farming, though that remains his passion – buying the farm was “12 orgasms rolled into one”. The list includes the art of David Hockney and touring the Arctic on an ice-breaker.
