Pay attention to grass, dairy men told

DAIRY farmers should develop plans to maximise their profits from grass, according to Charles Young of BOCM Pauls.

Mr Young urged farmers at the companys annual awards ceremony for silage to pay as much attention to the quality of their grass as they do to their silage.

By regularly analysing grazing grass, the financial benefits could be considerable, particularly from improvements in cow fertility, he said.
