Pesticide sprayers want stewardship

most pesticide users are eager to embrace stewardship along with integrated crop and pest management methods involving careful risk assessment. That was the message to come from the first three Crop Protection Association/ UKASTA roadshows.

The roadshows were held to promote the industrys voluntary package of measures to counter the continuing threat of a pesticide tax.

"Reports are that these are a resounding success, with the vast majority of farmers and contractors keen to improve their understanding and practical application methods," says Dow Agrosciences David Scorer.

He adds that because each event was oversubscribed, an extra 18 events are now planned, bringing the total to 48. &#42
