Firefighters spent over 12 hours battling a fire in a farm building near Burlescombe in Devon on Bank Holiday Monday (29 August).
Fire crews arrived on the scene shortly after 4am to find a single storey barn containing straw and farm machinery alight.
About 750t of hay and straw, one pick-up truck, one horse box and other various forms of farm machinery were severely damaged by the fire.
Approximately twenty tonnes of fertiliser, which was in an adjacent building, was safely removed using a mechanical digger.
The fire was back under control by 9am but firefighters remained on site through the day and night to damp down any hot spots.
The cause of the incident is under investigation by the Fire Service and Police.
