Poll finds consumer fears about GM food
A NATIONAL Opinion Poll (NOP) found that most people in Britain oppose the idea of genetically-modified food. They cite fears about tampering with nature and the possible effects on health and the environment.
The poll found more than six out of ten people were opposed to the genetic modification of crops.
The findings follow a series of recent attacks on GM crops throughout the UK by environmental activists and a warning by the Prince of Wales last month that geneticists should stop “playing God” with nature.
