Princess Anne wants to go organic
PRINCESS Anne supports genetically modified technology but is keen to try out organic farming, reports the Daily Mail.
The Princess stepped into the controversy surrounding GM food when she voiced her support in an interview with The Grocer magazine.
Crops have been manipulated by cross-breeding throughout farming history, and suggested that GM food could feed the world, she argued.
But now it is claimed the Princess is considering using organic methods on her 1,000 acre farm at Gatscombe Park.
Her comments on GM food were dismissed by environmental group Friends of the Earth as simplistic.
The charities Action Aid and Christian Aid were unhappy that GM crops were being put forward as a panacea for starvation.
The Daily Express says that by speaking out for GM food the Princess has placed herself on a collision course with Prince Charles.
