Probe results into BSE fiasco due
By FWi staff
THE long-awaited results of two investigations into the disastrous Institute of Animal Health experiment on BSE in sheep are due next week.
The audits are expected to explain how scientists came to use cattle brains in a four-year, 250,000 experiment that was looking for BSE in sheep.
Ministers have been criticised for delays in publishing the audits, carried out by risk assessment company, Risk Solutions and the UK Accreditation Service.
A Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs spokesman said copies had to be checked by institute officials “to make sure they are accurate”.
