Profit boost for Dengie Crops
By FWi staff
FARMER-OWNED Dengie Crops has announced an increase in profitability for the last financial year.
This boost was despite a downturn in lucerne production and its dehydration business,
Operating profits for the year ending April 2001 rose by almost 250,000, based on a static turnover of 18.5 million.
Chairman of the Essex-based firm, Michael Pudney, put the improvement down to tighter control of expenditure.
A rise in co-operative buying and marketing activities has helped to improve overall business efficiency, he says.
