Profits are equal for organic farming

Organic farming can be as profitable as conventional methods, according to a seven-year study by CWS Agriculture.

CWS, one of the largest farming groups in the UK, carried out the experiment on 270 acres at its estate at Stoughton, Lancashire.

Alistair Leake, project manager, said the results were much better than CWS had expected.
