THE cost of two popular feed straights continued to slide this week. Imported high-protein soyabean meal fell by £11 to £171/ tonne. And domestic rapeseed meal dropped by £12 to £110/ tonne.
Prices are set to ease further over the coming weeks on expectations of a bumper South American soya harvest. Domestic rapeseed meal is trading at £108/ tonne for April and £106/ tonne for May. Soyabean meal for April delivery costs £164/ tonne.
The rest of the market remained quiet and other price movements were limited to only two ruminant straights. Home-produced maize gluten dropped £6 to £95/ tonne and palm kernel meal eased £2 to £69/ tonne.
All other ruminant straights remain available at last weeks prices
