QA – one big scheme for all
IS NOT one all-encompassing farm assurance scheme needed?
Having recently been on the receiving end of a requirement to be in two different schemes to supply vegetables to one wholesale,r who then supplied two different supermarkets, each with their own different standards and costs of joining, it is clear, at least to me, that this is a ridiculous nonsense controlled by the supermarkets at a time when the industry can ill afford such “luxuries”.
One scheme, funded by farmers, to cover ALL produce, which satisfies all requirements. Can the industry not get together and try and sort this out?
