DAIRY farmers appear prepared to wait before securing supplies of milk quota.
Prices remain steady and there is little interest in the market from either vendors or buyers. Quota at 4% butterfat is currently trading at 34ppl (sold) and 6.5ppl (leased).
Reasonable amounts of both quota types are available. But agents say many farmers are waiting for the reduced milk price to affect the quota market before deciding whether to buy or lease.
