RABI needs your help

THE ROYAL Agricultural Benevolent Institution is seeking financial support to enable 80 elderly and disabled members of the farming community to enjoy a holiday, for some their first ever.

RABI chief executive Patrick Shervington said: “For many who have spent a lifetime working on the land, having the time or resources to take a holiday has never been more than a dream.”

“For the past 20 years, RABI‘s week-long break has made that dream come true for 40 of its most needy beneficiaries, many of whom are virtually housebound.”

“This year, by having two holidays, one in May and one in September, twice as many will be able to realise that dream,” Mr Shervington said.

He pointed out that RABI knows the people in need; it has the venues, excellent hotels in Wales and Lancashire specially equipped to cater for the elderly and disabled; and it has the welfare staff experienced in organising the holidays.

But it now needs more financial backing.
