Ramsbury herd very attractive

FARMER Frank Clothier dispersed his 7570kg-averaging Ramsbury herd of Holstein Friesians to a top of 1100gns at Marlborough, Wilts.

Steyning, Sussex buyer Frans de Boer made the top call for Ramsbury Ferrari Davina, a second calver by Etazon Ferrari. The same buyer also made a successful 1000gns bid for a 37kg/day-yielding calved heifer by the Cleitus son Maral Atreius.

Served heifers sold to 860gns paid by J D Cooper and Son who took a Sunny Boy daughter for their Midgehall herd at Wootton Bassett, Wilts. Trade for heifer calves was strong with prices to 400gns.

Averages: 98 cows £565; 16 served heifers £626 and 19 recently served and maiden heifers £438. (Norton and Brooksbank) &#42
