Record grant to B&B business
THE East of England Tourist board has awarded a record grant of £36,953 to help boost a Suffolk farming couples bed and breakfast trade.
David and Margaret Gray run a 24ha (60-acre) arable unit and have run a B&B business for 17 years at Park Farm, Sibton. But the couple needed to invest in new accommodation before they could capitalise on growing tourism in the region.
Mrs Gray said that without the award – which will provide 40% of the conversion costs for cowsheds into three two-bed self catering units – the business could not have expanded and a business opportunity would have been missed. *
