Right to roam wins massive public support
THE right to roam over open land has the support of 80% of the population, according to a survey conducted for the Governments public consultation exercise reported in The Guardian.
But the Country Landowners Association (CLA), which has 50,000 members, remains opposed to the plans.
The CLA has threatened to sue the Government for millions in compensation for losses which landlords say they will face on shooting, fishing and farming estates.
