Robert Wiseman buys rival in £3.4m deal

ROBERT Wiseman Dairies has bought Gilmours Dairy of Kilmarnock for £3.4m in cash and loan notes.

The deal gives Wiseman three more percentage points of the Scottish fresh milk market.

Gilmours Dairy has sales of £8m a year and made profits of £360,000 in its last financial year.

Wiseman has bought 80% of the business and will have an option to acquire the remainder in October this year.
