Round three for Milk Marque?
By FWi staff
MILK Marque could be forced into a third selling round after failing again to find enough buyers for the milk on offer in its January selling process.
A second round of bidding attracted saw the farmer-owned cooperative receive offers for only 44% of its milk for contracts commencing on 1 April.
Milk Marque officials are claiming that bids came in from a wider cross-section of customers but say they were unable to accept any of the offers made.
Milk Marque had already dropped its prices by 0.7ppl in a desperate attempt to clear the market after its first bidding round attracted offers for just 25% of its milk.
