Saving an extra spread
SPREADING units on mowers not only improve silage quality but also save on costs, says Bernard Krone UK.
By cutting out a separate tedding operation, Krone points out that a saving of £2.04/ha* (£5.05/acre) is made – and there is also a reduction in time, labour and machinery investment.
Taking the example of the companys 2.8m 283 mounted mower conditioner which retails for £7750, the addition of the Easyspread unit adds another £475. This extra cost, says Krone, could be recovered after just 38ha (95 acres) of work.
