Scientists concerned over chemicals
THE governments decision to withdraw organophosphate sheep dip reflects mounting environmental concerns among scientists, according to a report in The Guardian.
The newspaper reports on a conference in Japan last month where concerns were raised about chemicals capable of causing sex changes in fish.
Scientists have also expressed alarm about other chemicals such as bisphenol and organochlorines.
The government is currently investigating the 800-plus cases of people too crippled to work who blame exposure to OP-based dips.
