Scots have no role for Sewel

SCOTTISH farm minister Lord Sewel is unlikely to continue in that or any role in the new Scottish Parliament. He has not been selected to fight any first past the post constituency and is understood to be only third on the proportional representation list for Labour in north-east Scotland.

A Labour Party official would neither confirm nor deny Lord Sewels placing on the list, saying that it still had to be checked and would be announced tomorrow (Sat).

Pundits suggest that, unless there is a big upset in the north-east first past the post elections, there is no chance of Labour having to go to third on their PR list.
