Scots landowners could lose millions


THE Scottish Office is reviewing all compensatory schemes under which rich landowners receive millions of pounds if they do not develop their land to preserve the environment.

Scottish environment and agriculture minister Lord Sewel is expected to issue new guidelines soon to Scottish Natural Heritage, the government wildlife adviser.
