Severed pigs heads greet commuters

FARMERS have denied involvement after Merseyside commuters were confronted by severed pigs heads dangling from railings on routes into Liverpool.

There has also been some speculation that the heads might be a macabre protest against police handling of trouble in Liverpool city centre after the Liverpool-Manchester United game last Saturday.

Police officers are contacting local abattoirs to find out where the heads have come from.
