Simply sparkling treatment for scours

REHYDRATE piglets and calves with nutritional scours using the Champagne solution Hydrafeed, claims manufacturer Hypred.

Its effervescent tablets are said to be simple and precise to use, with two tablets dissolved in two litres of water to treat one calf or two piglets.

Hypred adds that the palatable vanilla flavoured drink offers energy, and rapid absorption of electrolytes and water.

The company advises using the solution to replace feeds for two-and-a-half days.

It costs £9.99 for a typical calf treatment or £4.99 for a piglet, according to UK suppliers Battle, Hayward and Bower (01522-529206).
