SNFU on the stump for regional reorganisation
ED RAINY BROWN, the chief executive of the Scottish National Farmers Union, is on the stump in the areas and branches adjacent to Ayr in a bid to win support for the unions restructuring process.
The unions general purposes committee has relented on proposals to create a “super-region” in South-west Scotland that would have taken in the Ayr, Dumfries and Stewartry and Wigtown areas.
But Mr Rainy Brown intends to carry out further consultation with the areas before putting his recommendations to the ruling council.
He also intends to consult further on the Highlands and Islands boundaries.
