South Africa in trade deal with EU
SOUTH Africa is poised to sign a trade deal with the European Union on 11 October despite failing to achieve all its objectives over agriculture, reports the Financial Times.
South Africa has “struggled” to prise open the European market in agriculture where it has competitive advantages, the paper says.
After nearly four years talks, it has now partially succeeded in the face of strong opposition from the southern European states.
