GERMANY has confirmed that it is preparing to donate thousands of tonnes of beef stockpiled as a result of the BSE crisis to North Korea.
A spokeswoman for the German ministry of agriculture told a daily paper that the meat would be sent North Korea if it could be fairly distributed.
The meat will be available because the German government plans to slaughter up to 400,000 cattle as part of its BSE controls, reports BBC Online.
Officials claim the meat will be tested for BSE before it is shipped.
Negotiations between the two countries and international aid organisations are expected to start this week.
