Storage problem solved

SHORT of grain storage? Martin Lishman believes it has come up with a low-cost system which is both easy to erect and can be placed on any flat, solid surface.

Developed in Sweden, the Silo Module System comprises a lightweight cylindrical steel frame in which a polypropylene lining is placed – a confined bag in its crudest sense. Versions offering capacities of up to 100t are available.

Easy to erect

Martin Lishman claims that it takes two men just two hours to create – the steel frame interlocks without the need for bolts with a hammer being the usual working tool. Unloading hatches can be fitted at will at required heights and intervals.

And after use, the whole structure can be taken down and stored to release the floor area for other uses.

One of the key questions asked by visitors to the Lishman Grain 97 stand was: Would rats or other vermin cause problems by eating into the liner? The company insists there would not be problems.

Price of a 55t capacity version, with a height of 4.9m and a diameter of 4m (16ft x 13ft) is listed at £1575.n

Low cost grain storage with Martin Lishmans Swedish sourced Silo Module System. Two hours and two men (with hammers) is all it takes to erect the steel-framed structure, says the company.
