Sugar harvest sours Cuban growth
CUBAS economic growth slowed in 1998 because of a poor sugar harvest combined with poor commodity export prices.
The Government expected to see growth at between 2.5% to 3.5%. But it was expected to total 1.2%.
The sugar crop fell 24% to 3.2 million tonnes.
