Supplier defends list pulses
COMMENTS from NIAB about the quality of two newly recommended pulses are premature says the supplier.
Premiums for micronising and human consumption could be possible for large, blue spring pea Espace and spring bean Quattro respectively, NIAB suggests. But that could be misleading, says Seed Innovations.
"We are not claiming micronising quality for Espace," says the firms product development manager Ray Starling. "It is up to end-users to evaluate it." The same observation applies to Quattro, he adds. "We just dont know."
The same companys spring pea Celica has been dropped from the Recommended List after it failed to meet canning quality.
